Getting here
Travel Options
Travel time from Everett is about an hour and a half, and Seattle is two hours. Be sure to plan your trip to Whidbey Island ahead of time as it can be impacted during peak tourism seasons. You have a couple of options to access Camp Casey, each offering its own memorable view of the Pacific Northwest.
Mukilteo to Clinton Ferry
If you’re traveling from the Seattle or Everett area, you can drive to Mukilteo and board the Washington State Ferry to Clinton, located on the southern tip of Whidbey Island. The ferry leaves every 30 minutes, but double-check the
WSDOT Ferry Schedule for any delays or cancellations.
Deception Pass
Another option, and ideal if traveling from the north, is to take Highway 20 south through Anacortes and cross over the Deception Pass Bridge onto Whidbey Island. This is a beautiful drive with stunning views of the Salish Sea.
Port Townsend to Coupeville Ferry
The
Coupeville-Port Townsend Ferry docks just half a mile from Camp Casey. While this is extremely convenient for guests who want to easily get to and from the Olympic Peninsula, it is highly advised that you make a reservation for this ferry and are aware that cancellations occur often due to tides, fog, and staffing constraints.
No matter the direction, your journey welcomes you to the beauty of Whidbey Island and its open coastline, sweeping views, and peaceful rural landscape. Camp Casey’s location is part of what makes it so special.
Please note that the island is also home to a U.S. Naval Air Station, so you may occasionally hear jets flying overhead as part of daily operations.
